Bad Voltage Episode 50 Has Been Released

- 00:24:48 Chris Waid from Thinkpenguin and savewifi.org speaks about the American FCC’s consultation which requires restricting wireless devices from using unapproved frequencies. Understandably, the SaveWiFi team are very concerned this will result in outright banning of open source router firmware and possibly open source wireless drivers generally. The android forum cited in your linuxorg email of Oct. 13

may be infested with malware. I tried to register for the forum in order to post a question, and found myself confronted with a video question which demanded that I enable Flash, which, ironically, I had just disabled in all of my browsers, following an online suggestion that only 9.9% of websites required it. Since I couldn’t read the question, I couldn’t answer the pseudo capshaw, which required me not to listen to an audio, or to decipher a scambled text, but to answer the question I couldn’t read.
I carelessly clicked on a “help” link on the page, and immediately found my screen filled with a message saying my PC is infested by numerous viruses, and a load voice instructing me to call the number presented on screen immediately. The screen display claimed the message was generated by Windows MSE. I had shut down my browser and restart my system to get rid of this annoying intrusion.
I’ve verified that there is no malware on AQ. Can you try registering again and see if you still have the above issue? Have you had an issue with any other sites?
